SINGAPORE Silk Air will take over five weekly services to Yangon, Myanmar, currently operated by the SIA Group’s low-cost subsidiary Scoot, effective, 29 October.
SilkAir already operates 10 nonstop flights a week to Yangon and three services a week via Mandalay in Myanmar.
With the transfer of Scoot’s Yangon services, Silk Air will boost its Yangon operations to 15 nonstop services a week. Parent company Singapore Airlines also operates daily services to Yangon.

“The transfer of Scoot’s Yangon services to Silk Air will optimise aircraft use within the Singapore Airlines Group and free up Scoot’s resources for other network development plans,” said, Scoot CEO, Lee Lik Hsin.
